Janaki Medical College is being developed and promoted
by private sector in Janakpurdham, Nepal as an
institution to provide undergraduate medical training
programme (MBBS) for 100 students intake per year.
The national health policy of His Majesty's Government
assures to encourage private sector to establish
health institutions for development of extended health
care services in Nepal under prescribed policy of HMG.
This institution will be able to offer opportunities
for national and international students to study MBBS
courses and fulfill the manpower requirements of the
Ram Janaki Health Foundation Pvt. Ltd. is an
organization located in Janakpurdham, Nepal and is
involved in development of Janaki Medical College.
Members of the foundation are devoted people in social
services and the foundation is chaired by Dr. Ram
Nandan Sinha, Retd. Director General of Department of
Health Services, His Majesty's Government of Nepal.
Curriculum Out Line
Curriculum has integrated teaching learning
activities and encourages problem-based learning.
Curriculum is divided into three phases namely the
first phase, second phase and third phase.
The First phase is of two year duration and
teaching is organized in following subjects:
First year - Community
medicine and integrated basic medical science.
Second year - Integrated
basic medical science which includes Anatomy,
Physiology, Biochemistry Pathology, Pharmacology and
Second phase is of one year and teaching includes
Forensic medicine, Applied epidemiology, Family
Health, Internal medicine, Surgery, Gynecology &
Obstetrics and pediatrics.
Third phase is of one and half year duration and
includes teaching of Eye, ENT, Orthopedic,
Dentistry, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Anesthesiology,
Accident and Emergency Medicine.
Enquiries In College
To be eligible for admission, each candidate must have
completed 17 years of age on 31 July of year of
admission and 10+2 years of education or intermediate
of science or equivalent with english, biology,
physics and chemistry as main subjects and have
secured not less than 50% mark and aggregate of 50%
over all. Or completed BSC degree with one of the
following subjects VIZ physics, chemistry and biology,
students should have scored not less than 50% marks in
earlier qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent)
with the subjects physics, chemistry, biology &
Tribhuwan University, Kathmandu, which is
internationally recognized oldest University of the
country is the affiliating University.

Student Hostel :
» JMC has made provisions of comfortable hostels.
» For students to have more time for their studies and

After passing the final MBBS examination, every
candidate is required to undergo a one-year period of
compulsory rotating internship in an approved
hospital. The trainee shall obtain a certificate after
satisfactory completion of internship training from
the appropriate authorities of the concerned
